Fee-Only Financial Advisor When working with a commission-based financial advisor, they will normally recommend investments that pay them a commission. Some of the investments they recommend may pay a 2% commission, some a 5% commission, some even an 8–10% commission. This may cause a conflict of interest concerning what’s best for you and what’s best for the commission-based financial advisor. However, at Behnken Financial Services we give you a choice. We can work with you on a transactional basis or, as we prefer, on a fee only basis charging no commissions. This allows us to act as a fiduciary, putting your interests first. The majority of the work we do for clients is on a fee – only basis, using a combination of no load mutual funds, ETFs, stocks and bonds, charging no commissions. This helps eliminate the conflict of interest that can occur with a commission-based financial advisor.
